I'm an eternal optimist who loves her Sabres. The Pagulas ran the Bills as a business and the Sabres as a fan's hobby. It finally appears that they lucked into a GM and Coach much like Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott. KA appears to be running the team as a business and Granato appears to be the perfect guy to coach these young Sabres. Facing losses of over $20 million just in lost season ticket sales this year, the Pagulas have to sell a fun and exciting product to its fans. They can't run it as their own personal fantasy league anymore. That means making hard decisions, some unpopular. It also means rebuilding a culture alot like the Bills where the players and fans are a family. If that happens, the fans will start buying tickets again.

As an A’s fan, I felt this. Now excuse me, I’m gonna go cry.

It's not hockey, but yeah, I'm around here as (due to a confluence of accidents) a lifelong Braves fan. There's the frustration of umpteen playoff collapses over the last quarter-century; they're currently up 2-0 in the NLCS and I'm mostly just wondering how they're gonna screw it up this time. Moreover, though, seeing my team actually get past the first round for a change has come at a cost of seeing that damn Chop, which I hate, come under even greater scrutiny nationally. It sucks to feel embarrassed by thousands of people in one place doing something I find odious even as we very much want the same result on the field. I'll be off-the-charts thrilled if they buck their October woes and somehow win six more games, but I'll have to put out of my mind the fact that many of my fellow fans wouldn't hesitate to call me a libtard beta cuck or whatever. You make your own peace with it and that's all you can do.
